Lake Alpine Camping

So Lisa, Tulia and I packed up the RV and went to Lake Alpine in Stanislaus national forest. We spent four days there. The trip was a success with a few hiccups.

We had the catalytic heater break in the middle of the last night. Also Tulia went number 2 all over her pack and play crib while napping. Apparently she knows how to get her diaper off without pants or shorts on. That was remedied by us going into town by bike and using the local laundry machine.

Most of the time we rode bikes around the lake and played in the water at the lake. Scout got to swim and Tulia threw rocks and waded. I went for a 16 mile bike ride on some of the local singletrack trails.

The trails were really nice. Some granite slabs and some really nice technical singletrack.

Lisa had a good time too. Tulia was mostly receptive to the trip although in the beginning she was a little more high maintenance than usual. I didn't fish, although there were a lot of fish. We even saw the DFG truck out there unloading catchable trout. Maybe next time.

So the enlightenment that I had during this trip is that, these vacations are no longer for ourselves individually. Instead they have become vacations for the family.
