Xantrex Battery Monitor

After boondocking in Yosemite for 4 days, we ran our batteries down and thought we were charging them sufficiently with the generator. We ran it less than an hour each time (probably about 4 times total) And according to the stock voltmeter/battery condition monitor, we were doing ok, until the lights dimmed after charging for a half hour. The meter was just reading a surface charge and not sufficiently showing the battery condition/charge.

So after some research I found and bought a Xantrex battery monitor. Basically it keeps track of all the current in and out of the batteries. Also can compensate for temperature effects. Now I can have piece of mind as to how much juice we have left and how much we need to charge while out in the woods.
