Downieville
A few days after the new Nomad was built, I headed to downieville with an ex-coworker from San Bruno. We took the RV and ended up at Lakes Basin campground at 3am.
It was a surprising 5 hour drive to get there. We pulled in and went straight to bed.
The next morning we skipped the early ride we had planned and slept in till 10am. We rode from lakes basin to summit lake then down to Pauly Creek. From there we took the classic route to Butcher Ranch, then to second divide, and first divide.
It was an EPIC. 23 miles over 5 hours of riding. An awesome experience. I will be going back again for sure!
The Nomad performed amazingly. Floating over all the rough stuff. This bike has more control and finesse than the Bullit did for sure. I did have one major mechanical. I bent the derailleur hanger. However, I was able to bend it back enough to continue on the ride. Back at camp with the right tools, the hanger was fixed good as new.
